What Is Botox?
Botox Cosmetic, Dysport and Xeomin are nonsurgical treatments (injection) that temporarily smooths dynamic facial wrinkles. Their active ingredient is botulinum toxin. They work by temporary weakening (or paralyzing) the directed muscles responsible for causing the dynamic wrinkles (those related to muscle activity/motion during facial expression). It is important to note that they will not address static wrinkles, which are always present.
Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin are ideal for the crows feet, frown lines, and forehead lines.
After Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin injections, it takes a few days before you see the full effects. The effects of toxin treatments last 3-6 months, after which time, the injection should be repeated.
What is Botox Used For?
Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin injections can be used to treat a wide variety of cosmetic issues. Botox is commonly used to treat the following:
- Frown lines between eyebrows
- Wrinkles and creases on the foreheadCrow’s Feet
- Blepharospasm (Eyelid Spasm)
Is Botox Safe?
Botox is used for both medical and cosmetic purposes. and Botox for cosmetic purposes. When Botox is used cosmetically to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and crows feet, the complications are nearly non existent as the dosage is extremely lower than Botox for medicinal use. Botox has an excellent track record or providing its patients with the superb results they’ve been looking for, leaving them to get back to their normal life as soon as they leave the office, often times already feeling more confident about their youthful appearance.
